Part 3


		Central to the design is the cross. Peace, symbolized by a dove, radiates to all the earth. A traditional Spanish shape called, an arabesque encloses the dove.

The detail on the left shows the harvesting of grapes for wine and the grinding of corn for tortillas or bread.

The chalice, bread and wine, relate to the scene depicted above.

The right side portrays the religious / spiritual life of the community.
A man plays a guitar accompanied by a group of children, singing hymns. A woman reads the bible in front of a traditional adobe church.

	The bottom right shows water as it relates to baptism. The shell is an ancient concept for a cup, and the river behind the baptism font represents the river of life.
